WE ARE
Women in Alternative Action (WAA) Cameroon is a non- profit and non-governmental organisation founded in 2004 with a vision to promote communities free from gender-based violence, stigmatisation, discrimination, and exclusion of women, youth and girls in Cameroon and Central African sub-region.
We work to promote gender justice, equality, peace building, gender capacity building, innovative and sustainable opportunities for women, youths and girls in Cameroon and Central African sub-region.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

WAA Cameroon’s affiliation to relevant structures

WAA Cameroon is a member of the Gender-Based Violence sub group coordinated by UNFPA and MINPFROFF.

WAA Cameroon is also a member of Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage and coordinates the Cameroon National Coalition to End Child Marriage.

Additionally, WAA Cameroon is a member of the African Union Civil Society Reference Group of the African Union Campaign to End Child Marriage in Africa

OUR VISION
Women in Alternative Action is leading in creating an enabling environment for the development efforts of women, youth and the girl child that offer them equal access to gender justice, peace, security, human rights and sustainable opportunities in Cameroon and the Central Africa sub-region.
OUR MISSION
We devote all our efforts towards eradicating gender-based violence, as well as enhancing human rights protection and promotion, contributing to peace and security, and providing sustainable opportunities for women, youth and the girl child in Cameroon and the Central Africa sub-region.
