Support Female Peacebuilders Today

International Women's Day - a time to celebrate all the women building peace around the world. Will you support their lifesaving work with a donation today?

In the past, wars were fought on battlefields - but today they're tearing through communities. In cities, towns and villages just like your own: Women have become the biggest casualties of war.

More than 40 million women were displaced by conflict in 2020. Many of them are still homeless, without support, and increasingly vulnerable to sexual violence.

COVID-19 made matters worse; women now face increased emotional stress and economic strain. As lockdowns came into force, violence against women rose around the world.

Yet, despite the added challenges to their work and lives: female peacebuilders have adapted - continuing their work in the most trying of circumstances. They've used technology to uphold women’s rights, fight against gender-based violence, and raise awareness about the vital role women play in preventing conflict.

Peace Direct has helped thousands of women reclaim their rights and learn new skills. Just last year, our partners in DR Congo trained more than 200 women to earn a living independently and manage their finances.

Your gift will help even more women build safer, more secure futures for their families and communities.

Thank you for being there for women building peace.

With thanks,

Sarah at Peace Direct

P.S: Your donation will help save and rebuild lives destroyed by conflict. Give today to make a difference.

Women are the backbone of every society and they are a community stakeholder. They must be treated equally and given equal access to platforms wherein they can explore their potentials just like anyone and be protected to enjoy their inalienable human rights.
