Voices of Youths in Cameroon for Peace (VOYCE)

NOTICE!!!!

Women in Alternative Action (WAA) Cameroon is pleased to announce the start of a three-year project funded by the European Commission entitled: Voices of Youths in Cameroon for Peace (VOYCE).


Running from 2022 until 2024 and implemented in partnership with the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) and the Trauma Centre Cameroon (TCC), the project will contribute to the prevention of youth radicalisation and re-radicalization in the conflict communities in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon and will support young people in these regions to actively participate as change agents in the promotion of community peace and dialogue.


VOYCE is a scale-up of “Building open spaces to prevent youth re-radicalization and recruitment into radical groups in Cameroon”, a two-year project carried out in 2020 and 2021 by WAA Cameroon and GPPAC and made possible with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ifa-Zivik.

The EU-funded VOYCE will complement the government’s efforts to effectively address the gaps in implementing Vision 2035 for Cameroon by fostering social cohesion and community trust rebuilding among citizens, making them full actors in their economic progress and social life.
