ABOUT THE CAMP

The National Youth Camp for Peace (NYCP) is an annual initiative by Women in Alternative Action (WAA) Cameroon and the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC). The NYCP is a valuable opportunity for young people to learn about peacebuilding, develop their leadership skills, and make a difference in their communities.

The NYCP is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 25 from all ten regions of Cameroon. The camp is held over a period of five days, during which participants learn about peacebuilding, conflict resolution, leadership, and advocacy. They also have the opportunity to meet other young people from different backgrounds and to share their experiences.

The NYCP is based on the theme "Building Bridges for Peace: Advancing Voices of Youth through Dialogue and Conflict Transformation." This theme reflects the camp's commitment to creating a space where young people can come together to discuss their experiences of conflict and to build new relationships based on peace and understanding.
The NYCP has been a successful initiative in promoting youth participation in peacebuilding in Cameroon. Past participants have gone on to become leaders in their communities and to work to promote peace and justice.

If you are a young person who is interested in peace and justice, we encourage you to apply for the NYCP. The camp is a valuable opportunity to learn about peacebuilding, develop your leadership skills, and make a difference in your community.
